Research compilation
Research compilation from a published ICIT-style digitization — not a complete or licensed photographic corpus
Fit on current defined metric: inconclusive.
Actively disputed; treated here as a model under investigation, not a conclusion.
Assumptions
- An Indo-Aryan language was spoken in Mature Harappan cities
- Signs can be mapped to later Indo-Aryan roots
Strengths
- Later regional linguistic history is Indo-Aryan in the north-west
- A large later textual tradition for comparison
Limitations
- Chronology and archaeology do not supply a bilingual
- Many proposed mappings are circular
- Does not uniquely explain positional structure
